Head Instructor Fabien was born and raised in Saint Germain-en-laye (France), in the suburbs of Versailles. After years of team sports he settled in savate with his father and his uncle. At the same time in 1982, he ended up in boarding school where he was able to practice Judo. Mixing the 2 arts was something that he loved but when entering the workforce at the age of 17, he quit Martial arts altogether. In 1991, he moved to Seattle, WA for work and raced triathlons for the next 10 years.

In 2000 he met then blue belt Birgitt Kaler and Ninia Ingram training for their martial arts test. He was fascinated by the moves and the efficiency of the Universal Kempo Karate Schools system. Instructor Fabien enrolled the next day at Universal Kempo-Karate Schools Association Bellevue Branch with 2nd degree Instructor Alex Weinert. In 2002 when Instructor Alex retired, Fabien continued his Universal Kempo training at the Lake Hills Branch in Bellevue under Assistant Chief Instructor Instructor Corey Marr. In 2005 Instructor Fabien was promoted to Black belt by Professor Martin T. Buell and then Senior Head Instructor Corey Marr.
In March 2007, Head Instructor Fabien went to China with Professor Buell to train in Dengfeng, birth place of Shaolin Kung Fu. In June 2009 he was promoted 2nd degree black belt by Professor Martin T. Buell and Assistant Chief Instructor Corey Marr.

Head Instructor Fabien teaches the classes at Universal Kempo Karate Schools Association - Puget Sound Branch in Seattle, WA are held on Tuesday and Friday in room #4 at the Crown Hill Center located at 9250 14th Ave. NW, Seattle WA 98117.

Youth*:  6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Adults: 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
* Pee-wees are 5 years old and over, Juniors are 8 years old and over
